Spring Lookbook with Lily Blush Boutique

Hi guys, today I’m so excited for this post (am I really ’so excited’ in every single blog post?) LOL I’m sorry, I just really love coming on here and talking to you guys! Okay, anyway I really am excited though, because more than pretty clothes and awesome price points today’s post is about women empowerment. I had the honor to meet the owner of Lily Blush Boutique in person and even though it was for a quick minute I was so happy I met her and that we got to work together.

I feel so honored she entrusted me to promote her brand right as she launched Haha, thank you for trusting my style! I so so appreciate it! (prayer hands up) I knew her pieces would be stunning but when I got the package I was a little skeptical because I truly didn’t know what to expect. I remember Rhazia being so sweet when we started this because at first it was about me providing feedback on the pieces. You know, to ensure she had the best product for you guys! Well, I called my mom into my room and I started taking out one piece at a time…we were blown away. We did a mini try on session and I instantly fell in love with Lily Blush Boutique.

I sent her a text and explained to her how I felt about everything and that I totally wanted to share these pieces with you guys! I literally had no idea where this package was going to take me. I will say 99% of what I got in that package is my style FOR SURE. I put together these looks for you guys using all new spring releases from Lily Blush Boutique! I really hope you love them as much as I do. I’m so happy I got to work with Lily Blush Boutique because I’ll never forget when she told me she’d love to work together because of my style, personality, but most of all because I’m humble. I truly feel so honored that I was able to connect with her and meet her in person!! Thank you Rhaiza, I wish you so much success and happiness on this new venture. I’m so happy to see you follow your dreams and live out your calling!

Do you match your outfit with your bag? It can literally be the simplest of looks but you still pick out the bag that looks ”the best with my ootd‘? Are you that girl that switches her purse every week and just throws everything from the week before into the new bag? That’s obviously including wrappers, receipts, lost hair ties, and bobby pins…tons of bobby pins. I have always been that girl but to be honest, a little more organized while switching from one bag to the other lol. When I opened my e-mail and read the terms of this collaboration and saw I got a bag of my choice, without even seeing the collection I said…grey. I NEED A GREY BAG. I have been looking for the perfect grey purse for months now. I’m pretty sure I was telling Nick how much I still wanted a grey bag as the e-mail loaded. Can you say annnoying? So, going back to matching the look to the bag I really wanted to be fun with my look by styling it pretty-urban-chic. I feel as if the choker + fishnet sock combination gave the bag an element of surprise and edge. I had so much fun putting this look together! As I looked through the collection [here] I was so happy to see such gorgeous bags and MOST excited to see a grey one! When I tell you I looked no further…I looked no further! I love all the compartments and zippers, and most of all the shoulder strap. Like I said about ‘keeping my bags organized during the switch’ I really take it a step further by the items I keep in my bag. My planner, notebook, one or two pens, chapstick, all my chargers, my eyelash curler, obviously my phone [but let’s be honest that’s in my hand] are with me like errrrday girl, SO as you can see I need those compartments to keep my life in order! I’m so ready to use this bag all summer and I really hope you guys enjoy how I styled my look around this bag,  ALSO before you go check out the collection [here] If you want to some money off, you may totes use my code [themodelsmarket] at checkout for 15% off your order!

Simplicity in Mind x The Model’s Market

Happy Monday everyone, how was your weekend? What did you do? Where did you go? My weekend was filled with awesome activities! It’s crazy how the days are just flying by when you are doing stuff. Today’s post is in collaboration with Simplicity in Mind and I’ve gotta say when I first saw their pop up at Elizabeth Ave Station I told myself ‘oh, I can already tell I love this brand and I would love to work with them!’ The first thing that caught my eye was this travel bag, I told everyone around me that I needed it! But, we’re not here to talk about this amazing bag (I’m coming for you…one day…wait for me) we’re here to talk about these wonderful new arrivals at the store.

Look One

My favorite part about this sweater is that neckline! You’d expect for a slouchy sweater to have a crew neck but the straight neck on this really steps it up

Look Two
Do I have to say anything about this open back cropped sweater? What I love about this one particularly is that it’s so versatile. Rachel and I both thought about styling this sweater over a dress! Were you thinking a dress? haha. This top is also so trendy right now because of the amazing bold stripes! Yes, let’s work.

Look Three
This dress is so comfy and has such a simple design you will confident in no matter what- not to mention it’s SO soft.

I’m so used to styling myself and helping others style themselves but never really being styled by someone else. Rachel, owner of Simplicity in Mind, beautifully picked up these three items for me to showcase and honestly, she is magical. I loved how she paired everything- I would wear each look out and about just as she styled!  Thank you guys for reading, check out more pieces here.

Incorporating Color Into Your Wardrobe + Pops of Color Ideas

I’ve been starring at these photos for over a week and I kept wondering what I was going to write about. Today I realized that every time I wear these heels I feel the need to ‘re-invent’ the look. That doesn’t even make sense lol. What I’m trying to say is that I have ever worn these heels the same way twice,  they’re too much of a statement! I guess that’s what makes styling these challenging but really fun. I remember buying these at Steve Madden over 2 years ago…as an impulse buy of course. Unless you consider trying them on in store, walking up and the down towards the mirror and back to your regular shoes ‘much thought and deserved reasoning’ then no, it wasn’t an impulse buy! Lol I really loved color back then and I’m not saying that I don’t love color now, but I am at a phase were I enjoy throwing in ‘pops of color’ into my looks. Hey, we’re officially in spring now so it’s time to get colorful…in your way! There are so many ways you can incorporate color into your wardrobe, have you seen Gabby from SheWearsColor? She is literally QUEEN of color and she does it the best, in my opinyyyy. (we also have the same last name so, yeah we’re cool) For me, the easiest way to incorporate color in any look is by adding a belt, a super trendy silk scarf, some sunglasses, a bag, an awesome pair of shoes, or some fun accessories (necklace, earrings, or bracelet). What are some ways you incorporate color into your wardrobe? I love showing you guys ideas to get you going and help you find items within your closet so check out these items and tell me…do you have something like this already? Would get invest in any of these items? I’d love to know.

How To: Dressing Up Shorts | The Model’s Market

Hi guys happy Monday, how are you? This past weekend was my 23rd birthday!!!! It was amazing. I’m sure there are memories on the gram by now so after this post go check my IG out. Can you tell I am loving this silk scarf? I just wearing wearing it! (see how I wore it as a head scarf here) but it’s truly just so perfect for spring and summer. To those of you asking worry not; the scarf is from LYNK Studio If you recall my beauty trends blog post (check out more trends here) I mentioned hair scarves were going to be a thing this season and I think this one is perfect to tie it anywhere. I’ve yet to use it around my head but as you can see I’ve used it around my neck, my bag, my wrist and even as a flag… Lol

I also found these shorts about a month ago for like $3 and aren’t they just the best? I did re-vamp them and took them in so they fit me nice and snug at the waist annnnnd also folded them up and hand stitched the folds in place. I really love how they came out and I got some other goods I’m excited to style coming up.

What I love most about these shorts is how versatile they are; with blazer or without. I wanted to style these shorts in a way that would be appropriate for a lunch meeting and then hanging downtown with the girls! You know? Sometimes we overlook our ‘casual’ pieces and forget there are tons of ways we can dress them up or keep them fun and casual.

The Birthday Post

Hi guys! Today is the day that comes around once a year and the day we expect to be celebrated without a doubt! The birth day! I want to say my mom once told birthday’s are the most selfish day of the year; because you are so focused on you…you…and you. While I’m sure all my loved ones will wish me a happy birthday, I want to do the same. I want to take this time to wish everyone in my life, who has helped me grow in one way or another, a happy day too! To my parents who without being perfect shared their unconditional love for me and instilled such valuable principles in my heart. Those values led me to, on my own without obligation by the way, find the greatest love I could ever imagine..my Lord and Savior; Christ. Through these 23 years I’ve made tons of choices (both great and not so great) and I’ve learned that God uses those experiences to really equip you for your next step. The value of experience qualifies me to be of influence in the sphere that God has placed me in! (Thank you Joyce Meyer for teaching me the value of experience) At this stage in my life, I want to say that sphere is in the blogging community, in my current schooling (though it’s online but I did share my faith and the passing of my grandmother in a group discussion and it was well received) and in the community I get to be a part of when I step outside of my house. I think today I can talk to someone going through a heartbreak, someone getting married, how alone and unwanted you can feel when you are verbally mistreated, what happiness feels like, what disappointing your parents looks like, what getting three promotions in a year and half looks like, what teen pornography and exposure to porn at a young age does to your mind and juuuuust a couple other experiences I have gone through in these 23 years. I also want to say thank you to my friends, those who are close and not close. I could sit here and name all of the friends that have made a difference in my life but if your heart races a little bit while reading this then you’re probably one of them. Thank you for listening to my complaining, my cries, and for holding my hand up in triumph when I succeed. To my amazing fiance, without you this blog would still be…well it wouldn’t be. I’m not sure if many of you know but three years ago Nick was the one who told me to start a blog. My new ‘month or so’ boyfriend saw a passion in my heart that I had no idea how to express. I’m so glad God gave you that little spark to help spark my…spark lol I love all of you so much!

I’ve never done a birthday post on my blog (or really anywhere) so in my truest form of trendy-ness I wanted to get the balloons that seem to be a tradition to get on your birthday! How cute? But you know what wasn’t cute… Trying to keep those freaking balloons facing forward!!!!! Lol I have been working on my quickness to get frustrated over things but OH MY GOD how annoying hahaha by the end of the shoot I asked Nick to keep the balloons! Lol My signature look lately has been pairing feminine + edgy and I’ve been loving that! I found this jacket in Forever21 for 65% off the clearance price (20.99$) so you do the math and then agree with me that I HAD TO get it. You can get it too…right here! Just some days before finding the jacket I told Nick I really wanted to ‘invest’ in a great quality leather jacket…wellllll this took me by surprise, let’s see how long it truly lasts me since I wont get to wear it very much here in South Florida. Now that I think of it this look really represents my whole brand and message of ‘wear and re-wear’ because the dress was a thrift find annnnnd I made my flats! (remember this video? I shared some cool ways to tie your lace up flats?) Thank you so much for sticking by me, I’m so excited for 2017, so many wonderful things have already happened and I can’t wait to keep sharing my style secrets with you! FYI since it is my birthday, be a doll and subscribe to my blog via e-mail…oh and share it with your friends, and cousins. EVERYONE. Love you guys so much!!!
