Get Ready With Me

GRWM: Wedding Edition

Hey guys! I went to a wedding this past month and I wanted to share my makeup and hair. This is normally the face routine I do all the time. The main difference for this was that I added eye makeup. I don’t usually wear a lot of eye makeup because I wear my glasses but I try to push myself into exploring eye shadow when I wear my contacts.

The first thing I do is moisturize and prime my skin. I like to use the veil mineral primer by hourglass on my cheeks to smooth out the skin. I’ve also been loving the  L’Oreal Magic Lumi primer to add a healthy glow to the rest of my face.

I’m always on the hunt for yellow toned foundations but at the moment I’m using the Maybelline Fit Me Matte + Pore less in shade 220. Sometimes I buff it in with a brush and other times I use a beauty blender, it depends on my mood. Lol

After I apply my NYX concealer in a triangle shape, I use my damp beauty blender to blend it out and I also ‘bake’ my under eyes with the NYC translucent powder. I really like this powder, I’ve been using it for about a month. I have dry under eyes and this powder does a really good job of not accentuating my eye wrinkles.

While I ‘bake’ I take a small coffee break, because putting on a whole face gets tiring! Lol. Just kidding, I then set the rest of my face with the Maybelline Fit Me Face Powder in shade 220 and bronze my face with Benefit Hoola Bronzer.

Then, using my Carli Bybel palette I take the gold shadow and highlighting shade and sweep across the high points of my cheeks. I love this palette! It’s usually my ‘to go’ palette because it has the shadows and highlighters in one.

Now, for my hair I split my hair on the side and did a dutch braid on each side. If you don’t know how to dutch braid check out this tutorial I did here.

Once you complete your braids, carefully start pulling the braid apart to give it for texture. Pulling it apart helps give the braid a more effortless look.

With a matching hair tie, or small band, secure both braids on the back. This makes it look like a braided crown!

This step is optional but the last thing I did was add some highlight on the ball of my shoulders because of the dress I was wearing.

After this, you are all ready to go! Thanks for getting ready with me!
