The new Ole Herniksen Banana Bright Eye Creme is here! To be honest, I never intended to create a blog post over this product. Yeah, that’s how I’m starting this! Here we are.
I received the Ole Henriksen banana bright eye creme last month and I’ve been using it for the entire month. I have gathered my thoughts. Ready?
It’s cute! I love how refreshing it feels and looks.
My package came with a super cooling eye mask and honestly, I haven’t touched it once. I have a feeling I’ll be using it often once Florida gets to back 1,000 degrees. Back to the packaging. I’ve realized that it’s super easy to travel with and it’s not messy. Like at all. Bonus points!
The consistency is very lightweight and pretty creamy. I’ve only tried a couple eye creams but I can say it’s not heavy under the eye, which is a major plus. It has a citrus scent in the most simple way. It’s not overpowering and the scent goes away after you apply but it’s definitely nice to open it and catch a whiff of it in the morning.
- Improves concealer wear
- Instantly reduces look of fine lines and wrinkles
Okay, let me start from the last claim and work my way up. Does it instantly reduce the look of fine lines and wrinkles? I don’t know about instantly but i feel like my under eye lines aren’t as deep as they were a month ago.
Does it improve concealer wear? Hmmm…I’m still testing this out. This product is inspired by the banana powder which is used to help brighten. So I can see why this would be a claim. But because the cream is so lightweight it doesn’t really leave a yellow-banana tint on my skin tone.
Does it actually brighten?
Honestly, I think my under eyes look pretty much the same. I used this product for the entire month and took a before and after photo to show you. Am I crazy? I guess I see a slight difference! Do you see it?
P.S. – I purposely left the date and time for the before photo for reference. The after photo was taken…this morning! January 29th at 10am.
First of all, did I really just put my under eye dark circles out on the internet like that? I think so. Lol Also, my face looks so crazy due to the insane amount of dairy I consumed during the holidays. Gosh, that was hard! I went back to being dairy free just one week ago and already see a huge difference. So, YAY! and NAY for dairy!
Overall I think this is a nice product. It feels nice under the eye and I do feel like it’s been helping with my under eye wrinkles. I shared on Instagram that I recently got a vitamin e beauty oil to use under my eyes. So far, I’m using this cream in the morning and the oil at night. I’ve been liking this combination because my under eye soaks up the oil and it gives hydrating to my under eyes. Then in the morning I throw on this creme and it feels so nice!
Do I think this is worth $38? Probably not for my pocket right now. Will I continue to use it? Yes, because my under eye did improve by a small amount. Looking back at the before and after photo surprised me a lot! I’ll give the cream another month and see if I can continue to see a difference. Under eye creams are so personal because we all have such unique needs. So far, I like the combo of using this in the morning and the beauty oil at night.
What do you think of eye creams? Do you have a holy grail? Please let me know what it is and why you love it.
P.S. – Shout out to the Ole Hernkisen team for always responding back to my insta stories!
