I’m sure you all know (or at least must know) that I’ve been growing my hair out for my wedding. It’s no surprise I absolutely prefer short hair times a 1000% but here we are, doing it for the hairstyle! As much as I would love to walk down the aisle in freshly-cut-chic length hair, I won’t! Simply because I’d love to have romantic waves and I can’t get that with short hair. So! What have I been doing with my natural hair?
In simple terms, nothing. Well, I’m lying. I’ve actually been using biotin, which has helped! I’ve been using this one by SBR nutrition.
But besides that; I barely use heat on my hair anymore which I believe is also helping with my hair growth. At the same time now it gets super frizzy. You know the hair Princess Mia had pre make over? Well, that’s how I feel! I let it air dry then I throw it up in a messy bun or sometimes even down in a chic bun or pony tail. There are other days I let my hair live and let it be crazy. That’s who I am right now.
Yet sometimes, I do this:
I tuck it in. I’ve realized this trick is absolutely nothing new and it has been done for years. But, I have a few things I love about doing this.
- you can’t see my frizzy hair and split ends
- it gives me something to do with my hair
- it makes me feel like I tried when I clearly did not
- it gives my overall look a more ‘effortless badass feel’ and I’m all for it
- it works wonders for dirty hair, just add dry shampoo!
Here’s how I usually achieve the tuck in look:
I don’t brush my hair (I know, sorry.)
I finger comb it because if I brush it out then it gets too flat and I loose the texture of it.
I part it where I want it to be all day
I put my shirt on and quickly look down.
I look down because it pulls out just enough hair from whatever top I’m wearing to where I’m comfortable all day and nothing extra is coming out throughout the day so what has been initially tucked in stays.
I understand we are transitioning into spring and summer so we are probably not going to be wearing shirts like I am in this look BUT this hair trick can work with:
your neck scarfs
your denim jackets
and even your necklace
Do you do this!? Would you do this?! Let me know!
